The architectural project and construction of this amazing historical villa dates back to the second half of the 16th century. The Villa has been the prestigious residence of the noble family Agliata, to Prince Corsini.
Also frequented by the English poets Shelley and Byron on their tours of their much loved Tuscany.
The buildings as they stand today are due to the major works done in the eighteenth century when the main building was adorned by a portico with five arches of Tuscan order and when two wings were added to form a large courtyard which ends towards the park with an impressive gate.
The internal structure and decorations are characterized by trompe l'oeil wall textures. The frescoes of the Villa and the external loggia were painted by famous artists such as Ademollo.
The residence with its chapel and the hill top hamlet "la Torretta" is surrounded by a park of 10 hectares with ancient trees such as large oaks and more than 400-year-old magnolias.
The immense park is crossed by a brook of spring water, which forms a natural waterfall, the "Waterfall of the Unicorn", in a magical corner of the "Forest of the Elves."
Eight spacious suites furnished with refined elegance have been made on the first and second floor and feature the very prestigious and intimate Suites wrapped in luxury and warm elegance, all very spacious and with independent air conditioning and heating.
The villa boasts a gorgeous Music Room which can accommodate up to 120 seated guests and is perfect for conventions, the incredible “Hall of Neptune" and the "Hall of the 16th century fresco"; and wonderful lounges nearby, also frescoed, can accommodate over 200 people.
The great "Dining Room" can accommodate up to 70 guests. It features a majestic architectural trompe l'oeil and its windows open onto the park.
The Residence has a private chapel dedicated to San Carlo, where you can admire the "Christ of Molina" an allegorical, "hermetic" piece of art where it is possible tocelebrate religious and civil ceremonies.
