Where is Lucca?
Lucca is a little nice city in the North of Tuscany. It's very close to:
- Sea (Viareggio, 20 minutes by car or train),
- Mountains (3o minutes),
- Florence (one hour by car or train)
- Pisa and his Leaning Tower (just 15 minutes),
- Siena (one hour and half).
Which is the nearest airport to Lucca?
Bothe Pisa and Florence International airports are very convenient.
Pisa airport is just half an hour's drive and Florence airport an hour's drive from all our villas.
We strongly recommend car hire booked in advance.

Is it possible to arrange airport assistance?
Yes, just ask us for airport assistance in advance. The service is by payment.
What is the minimum amount of people for the group to book through Poppies?
Poppies can accommodate any group large or small.
However, for our cultural holidays we recommend numbers from 4 to 14.
We don't speak Italian, Will it be a problem?
No problem, If you like, you may book an assistant in any language to guide you through your time spent in Italy.

Do we pay more if we book through Poppies?
No, Poppies are consultants who put customers in direct contact with the owners of villas and country homes and the various organizers and services with no extra cost for our clients.
How do we pay?
On your request for availability, Poppies personally contact the villa owners who then forward booking form and details of payment.
For Cultural holidays, events and concierge services we will create a personalized quote to be paid directly to the organizers.
What's the weather like?
Lucca enjoys an enviable micro climate.
Long hot summers, generally dry.
Warm Spring and Autumn, sporadic rain.
Mild winters, rarely below zero.

How far away is Lucca from the famous Art cities of Italy?
All Art cities are easily accessible by car, train or bus.
Firenze, Pisa and Lucca are within an hour's drive.
Siena and Arezzo are 2 hours drive.
Rome and Milan are 3 hours drive.
If we decide after our arrival that we would like to spend a special day, who do we contact?
When you arrive at the villas, you will find Poppies brochure full of useful information and our phone contacts.
You may call us for any whim or desire whether you would like a day's shopping at the designer outlet village, a day of golfing or spa treatment or a mini cruise in the blue sea of the Mediterranean. Just Ask.
